PTO Meeting This Monday!

Meeting will now be virtual; not in person as originally planned

The first PTO meeting of the year will be held on Monday, Sept. 11 from 6 to 7 p.m. All members of the Polaris community are encouraged to attend as Principal Lopez and PTO board members will be providing updates about what is happening within the school community, including:

Plans for the Oct. 21 "Starry Night" Party & Auction Fundraiser
Grade-Level Parent Mixers
Upcoming Opportunities to Connect with Other Families
And more!

Curriculum Night on Wednesday!

We hope to see you at Curriculum Night on Wednesday, Sept. 13th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. This night is designed as an Open House for students and caregivers to move throughout the building, so please plan to come anytime during the event. The PTO will also have a table where families can purchase Polaris gear!

Fall Auction Ticket Classroom Contest

Get your auction tickets today and win an extra outdoor recess for your child's classroom! The classroom in each grade with the highest ticket sales will win a free recess and a sweet treat provided by the PTO. Plus, save $20 off the full ticket price by purchasing by Sept 29th.

In addition to food, drinks and fun, we have some amazing auction items lined up that you won't want to miss: a luxury getaway at the Four Seasons Vail, dining at Denver's hottest restaurants, summer camps galore, Principal for a Day, wine tasting parties and much, much more! Together we can make this the most successful fundraiser that Polaris has ever had!

Casting Call: We Need Parents to Tell Us Why They Love Polaris

The PTO is in the process of producing video content that highlights the uniqueness of Polaris and its community. We're currently looking for parents who are interested in participating in a video interview on Monday, Oct. 2nd. We're hoping to film during the school day, but can be flexible in the later afternoon if needed. Please complete this form to let us know you're interested in helping!

The PTO has a number of opportunities coming up for parents and caregivers to get together to meet each other and socialize. We hope to see you there!

Grade-Level Parent Socials! Thank you to those who volunteered to host these events. Keep an eye out for the evite to your grade-level event with all the details! 1st, 2nd and 4th grades should have received evites already... please contact polarisPTOcommunity@gmail.com if you have not.

1st Grade: Tuesday, Oct. 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
2nd Grade: Tuesday, Sept. 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
3rd Grade: Thursday, Sept. 21; time TBD
4th Grade: Tuesday, Sept. 19 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
5th Grade: Host secured; date and time TBD

3rd Friday Community Coffee Get-Togethers! Please join us on the 3rd Friday after drop-off for a community-building coffee meetup.

Dine & Donate Event at Scoops Ice Cream

Join us for ice cream after school on Monday, Sept. 18th at Scoops Homemade Ice Cream (1426 E 22nd Ave., Denver, CO 8020. Scoops will donate 20% of purchases to Polaris! Just make sure to mention Polaris when you order between the hours of 3 and 9 p.m.!

Tell Us Why You Love Polaris!

Congratulations to the staff, teachers, students and to our entire community for helping Polaris achieve a perfect 100 score on the School Performance Framework (SPF)! We’re one of only five schools in the state of Colorado to achieve this honor!

To celebrate our amazing teachers and staff, the PTO provided breakfast for the staff earlier this week. In addition, the Polaris leadership team is continuing to collect 100 reasons why we love Polaris and our teachers (100 because we earned 100/100 points on the SPF). If you have a moment please complete this Google Form!

Fundraising Reminders

The PTO’s North Star Fund raises the majority of funds to create a stable revenue source at our school and pay for a social worker specialized in meeting the needs of HGT and 2e students, our paraprofessionals, the electives program, STEAM grants, and school equipment among other things. It’s a direct donation program through a one-time or recurring monthly donation. All North Star Fund contributions are tax-deductible. Gifts can be made online via ColoradoGives, check, or cash. Enrolling in the Kroger Community Rewards program is an easy way to earn money for our community. Simply sign up and your Kroger/King Soopers/City Market loyalty card will be linked to the rewards program. There is no cost to join and it will not affect any of the points you earn within your purchases! Every time you shop and swipe your loyalty card, the Polaris PTO automatically starts earning a donation from this fundraising program. We will be continuing to collect Milk Caps for Moola. Just bring them in (or have your student bring them in) to the front office where we have a collection box. Thank you for helping us recycle while earning money for the school! All funds raised go toward the PTO budget, which funds special events throughout the year. For FAQ, please click here.
