Polaris Pledge: Our Community's Commitment to Our Kids

Let's keep Polaris shining!

Why We Have the Polaris Pledge

You chose to send your student to Polaris because it is an extraordinary school. Year after year, Polaris ranks #1 in Colorado elementary schools.

But Polaris is more than a school. It’s a place where every child is seen for who they are, and who they can become. Our teachers show up every day ready to challenge, inspire, and help our students discover what they’re capable of.

Here’s the challenge we’re up against: Colorado is ranked 48th in per-pupil funding of K-12 education as a percentage of personal income. The state simply doesn’t cover what it takes to sustain an education like the one that Polaris provides to our students.

Educating HGT and 2E learners takes more: more resources, more specialized instruction, more time to nurture their unique strengths. Providing that is what makes Polaris extraordinary - and it depends on us.

That’s why we have the Polaris Pledge. We need our community to provide $800 per student to cover the $280,000 gap between the cost of educating our Polaris stars and the dollars we receive from the district.

We know $800 is a lot of money. If you can’t afford the full amount, commit what you can. If you can afford it, please consider helping fill the gap for another child as well as your own.

This is our school. Our community. Our children’s future. Let’s keep Polaris shining — together.

What $800/Student Pays For

Polaris receives annual funding of $8,264/student, the lowest per student reimbursement rate in DPS, despite needing to fund more extensive supports for our HGT learners.

To maintain the supports, services, and enriching activities that make Polaris such an incredible school for our children, the PTO needs families to donate an average of $800 per student to make up the gap in funding. Your donations pay for:
