Today, we kicked-off the 2025 Read-a-thon with a school-wide Read-a-loud with Principal Lopez and Ms. Ray and a Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) event! Click the image below to watch the kick-off video!

Minutes Tracking and Fundraising Links

Parents and Guardians, please check your email to find your child's personal 99Pledges links (one to manage/track minutes and one to share with friends and family to gather pledges.)

The school's main fundraising page can be found here as well: https://app.99pledges.com/fund/polaris2025 where families and friends can donate to the whole school or search for a student's name by first name and last initial.

Read-a-Thon Events

The fun continues next week as students enjoy Spirit Week and continuing tracking reading minutes, raise funds, and earn prizes! See more details on our webpage.

GOALS:

  • 1 hour per day
  • $200 per student

PRIZES:

  • Most minutes read in each class
  • Top 3 fundraisers in the school
  • Class with most total funds raised
  • Class with most total minutes read

EVENTS:

  • Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) times in classes.
  • Jory John inspired Food Character Mural! Students create food character mural, showcasing their unique traits and celebrating friendship and diversity.

SPIRIT WEEK:

Monday 2/10 Wear PJs; Tuesday 2/11 Bring Stuffie and wear Reas-a-thon shirts ; 2/12 dress like your favorite book character; 2/13 wear pink or red for valentine's day
International Academic Competitions!

Polaris's first International Academic Competition participation was a huge success! A big congratulations to all of the Polaris stars who took part, and a huge thank you to Ms. Kapsalis and all her work to make this happen and her help and encouragement at the Denver regionals last weekend!

Polaris representation:

  • 174 kids took the online regional qualifying exams,
  • 67 kids participated in the regional bee (and another 15 for online tourneys)
  • 36 kids placed for Nationals in Orlando and 25 for the International tournament
  • 5 champions of their respective grade level competitions.
