Big thanks to the students, families, and Polaris staff who volunteered this past Sunday to plant the "Pollinator Paradise" garden, set up the raised veggie beds, and assemble the seating for the outdoor classroom on the library balcony. It was a tremendous amount of work and an incredible transformation. 🌱
The plants will be delicate this season as they establish, so we appreciate everyone's help with keeping the area undisturbed while the plants put down roots. Some handy guidance as we watch this garden grow: in year one, the plants "sleep;" in year two, they "creep;" and in year three, they "leap!" We may see some blooms as early as this summer, but it'll become a real showstopper in the next season or two.
As you've likely noticed, additional work is still underway to set up a green strip with new trees on the playground and ground the bike racks, so please continue to "excuse our appearance" as we put the final touches in place to help Polaris become a more sustainable school. We are grateful for the community's support!
